Your personal information is the information that identifies you – like your name, address or other contact or personal details. We collect this information when you share it with us, so that we can keep in touch with relevant information and service offerings. The Association of Apprentices is a non-profit organisation funded by philanthropic seed funding and, in the future, member subscriptions. This privacy notice explains how we use your personal information. We collect your personal information so the Association of Apprentices can carry out its functions. This includes providing you with relevant information either directly, via the Association of Apprentices website or any services delivered from the website, other events and access to support materials.

When you use the Association of Apprentices website, we collect your personal information for the following purposes:

To enable delivery of the services offered and requested, including events

  • In addition, if you give your consent, we will collect your personal information:
  • To help us improve our products and services
  • To enable us to monitor our performance against our equality and diversity objectives, and/or;
  • For marketing purposes: newsletters/events and subscription to mailing services we believe are relevant to you. 

If you choose not to allow us to retain this additional information, you will not be able to receive all of our services. If at any stage you wish to have your personal data removed from our records, you may request this. We will then respond to requests to remove data and acknowledge this. If you wish to withdraw your consent for us to hold your personal data please submit your request to admin@associationofapprentices.org.uk. 

Where we collect personal information from

Personal information is provided directly by you to the Association of Apprentices;

  • When you complete the registration form to become a member
  • When you complete other requests on our website, sign up for specific groups within our forums, register for events and/or subscribe to receive our mailings
  • When you send us emails

Who we share your personal information with

If you choose to allow us, we will share your personal information with carefully selected partner organisations in order to provide additional services or marketing. You can choose to grant or remove these permissions at any time by changing your profile setting on our website or by emailing admin@associationofapprentices.org.uk.

Your Individual Rights

The law gives you certain rights with regards to your data.

You can request a copy of any personal information that the Association of Apprentices holds on you by submitting your request to admin@associationofapprentices.org.uk

Jan Richardson-Wilde

CEO, Occupational Awards Limited

Jan is the CEO of Occupational Awards Limited, a Director of the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink and an FE College Governor. She has over 35 years’ experience in the education sector in strategic and operational management of training programmes with colleges, private training providers, local authorities the voluntary sector and not for profit organisations. Jan has previously been a board member of the Learning and Skills Council, chair of the North Yorkshire Training Provider network and Vice-Chair of Yorkshire Coast College and a Governor of the Grimsby Institute for Further and Higher Education. She has extensive experience of education policy, apprenticeships, qualification, and curriculum development as well as business improvement.

Jan joined OAL in 2019, a leading non-profit industry-focused Awarding and End-Point Assessment Organisation, supporting a wide range of employers and of key stakeholders to succeed and surpass expectations. Jan is committed to continuous improvement and enthusiastic about improving the effectiveness, impact and quality of apprenticeships, education, and training in the UK and internationally. She has a wide range of experience of working in a collaborative context with employers and training providers to develop End Point Assessment, apprenticeships, and a wide range of vocational programmes.
