1. What we provide to you
We want to enable apprentices to develop, network and connect by creating a platform where members can create a community, access information and guidance and attend events.
We will provide up to date information and guidance – some created by us and some that we have asked third parties to provide.
We will enable apprentices to connect with each other and communicate about issues around their apprenticeships that matter to them.
We will ensure that Association’s platform is a safe space and that no member is ever exposed to any form of abuse, discrimination, harassment or victimisation. We have a safeguarding policy and will adhere to it. If we learn of any content or interactions that fall short of our standards, we will take appropriate and timely action – e.g. removing content, disabling member accounts, blocking access and/or informing law enforcement. 2. How we are funded
The Association is currently funded by donations from businesses and organisations that believe in our aims and ambitions. The Association is a not for profit organisation, so all money earned or donated is used in pursuing the Association’s objectives and to keep it running.
We reserve the right to introduce a membership fee at a future date if it is deemed necessary. This fee will be used to keep the Association running, not for profit. All members will receive ample warning if a membership fee is to be introduced.
3. Our governance structure
The Board of Directors has overall accountability and responsibility for the Association of Apprentices. They consult with and will be guided by the Apprentice Council in the engagement of apprentices and former apprentices, in any policies relating to them, and in defining and making available the services of the Association to its members. The Directors are also advised by the Advisory Panel, which comprises business representatives and other industry stakeholders. The Directors employ staff to run the day-to-day operations and administration of the Association.
The Directors have defined two categories of Membership:
Members – these are the Subscribing Members (the three individuals who formed the Association, the members of the Apprentice Council, the members of the Advisory Panel and the Board of Directors). The Subscribing Members have the right to vote in a general meeting of the Company and have the right to call a general meeting as prescribed in the Companies Acts.
Associate Members – these are current or former apprentice who applied, or were nominated, for membership of the Association and who have been approved for membership by the Directors and have paid their annual subscription, unless such subscription has been waived by the Directors. These Members have the right to elect the Apprentice Council and to benefit from the services offered by the Association.
4. Your commitment to the Association of Apprentices and our community
For safety reasons, the following people are not allowed to join the Association:
Those under the age of 13
Those who are convicted sex offenders
Those who have previously been blocked or removed from the Association’s membership for breaching our Terms or Policies
All members are required to:
Membership of the Association is non-transferable – your membership applies to you only.
We want to you, and all our members, to enjoy using the Association’s website and events. Therefore we want to encourage you to express yourself freely, but please bear in mind the following:
You must not breach these Terms & Conditions or any other community rules and policies
You must not breach anyone else’s rights, including their intellectual property rights
You must not use the Association’s platform or events to engage in any unlawful, fraudulent or discriminatory behaviour
We encourage members to report any content or conduct that you believe breaches your rights or breaks our Terms & Conditions or policies.
5. Data Privacy
In order to give you access to the services the Association offers, we need to gather and hold some data about you.

To enable us to monitor our performance against our equality and diversity objectives, and/or;
For marketing purposes: newsletters/events and subscription to mailing services we believe are relevant to you.
If you choose not to allow us to retain this additional information, you will not be able to receive all of our services. If at any stage you wish to have your personal data removed from our records, you may request this. We will then respond to requests to remove data and acknowledge this. If you wish to withdraw your consent for us to hold your personal data please submit your request to email@example.com.

Personal information is provided directly by you to the Association of Apprentices;
When you complete the registration form to become a member
When you complete other requests on our website, sign up for specific groups within our forums, register for events and/or subscribe to receive our mailings
When you send us emails
Who we share your personal information with
If you choose to allow us, we will share your personal information with carefully selected partner organisations in order to provide additional services or marketing. You can choose to grant or remove these permissions at any time by changing your profile setting on our website or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your individual rights
The law gives you certain rights with regards to your data.
You can request a copy of any personal information that the Association of Apprentices holds on you by submitting your request to email@example.com.
